Week 22

The babies like spooning, it appears! And Baby B, you better enjoy stretching out that leg for as long as you can! Real estate is becoming more and more of a premium every day!

One pound each, they say, though I guess sonograms are notoriously inaccurate in predicting birthweights.

The babies are "extremely active," says both the sonographer and the nurse midwife who attempted to listen to their heartbeats. They were moving around so much that the static obliterated their heartbeats most of the time.

I also got to watch Baby A punch outward as I felt a corresponding bump to my belly. Now that I know they are extremely busy I expect to continue feeling more and more bumps to my belly!

Week 19

Week 19 was a mix of good and bad, with nightmares and contractions on day 1 of week 9 as I remembered our first baby who left us at this time last April. But I've been feeling the babies move here and there and I went to my first prenatal yoga class today. I'm still feeling good and very happy! Jeff is looking forward to feeling the babies on the outside of my belly, and continues to giggle when he looks at my big belly.

Thanks to Tara for taking this week's picture!

12 week sonogram

8 week OB visit

Russian sonographer: Take off clothes and put on gown.
Me: I'd like to try an external sonogram.
RS: Too early. It no work.
Me: Let's try it.
RS: Why you no want internal?
Me: Because it is more invasive.
RS: It not invasive.
Me: Are you going to stick that thing into my vagina? I'd call that invasive.

Long story short, she did an external and look, it worked just fine. If you believe her that that blob is a mini-baby.
