Visit with Auntie Claire

Last week our dear friend Claire spent the week with us from New Mexico. The weather was positively dismal (rainy, bone-chilling cold) but we still managed a few walks and excursions. Claire also built us a great playhouse for the boys, which lives on the deck now for the muddy season until we move the patio furniture out.

The boys took to Claire very quickly, and by the time I got home from work Monday (Claire arrived Monday morning) the boys were very comfortable with her. They especially enjoyed her palpations of their bellies to figure out what they had eaten.

Rainy Tuesday walk through Green Lakes State Park. I offered Theo to ride on my back and he pointed to Claire instead.

This morning I took Theo to the farmers' market and Beck went around the block with his lawn mower accompanied by Dada. We also had a little wrestling on the crib mattresses as I remade their beds.

This afternoon when they woke up from naps we went out for another walk around the block with both lawn mowers and then spent a long time in the swings in front of the house.

The boys (and Mama and Dada) had a rough night last night. Not sure what was bothering them but it bothered us too! Beckett especially is pretty tired this morning. We're headed up for naps now!

This is one of the funniest things I've read in a while about kids. It seems that Theo and Beckett can go from 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds sometimes, and a lot of the time I have no idea what set them off. This might give me a hint.

Sanibel 2013: Part IV

The boys discovered the shower feature of the bath, and had a great time pulling the knob to turn on the shower and then pushing it down to turn on the faucet.

The boys enjoyed the bike trailer this year much more than last year. It was also cooler this year, so they didn't get as sweaty. 

Thanks Stacey and Joe for letting us borrow their red Ergo for some nice walks on the beach.

The boys got to know the walk from the condo to the beach and had a great time getting around on their own.
