My friend Nitsan was one of my very best friends growing up but then moved back to Israel with her family after ninth grade. She visited Ithaca the next summer, and then the summer after that I went to Israel to visit her and see her country. It was absolutely incredible how much we just slipped back into our old close friendship, and amazing how well our families got along despite their kids speaking primarily Hebrew and my kids speaking nothing but English. Nitsan has three little girls (Maayan-7, Yuval-4 and Alona-1) and a husband, Nimrod, who also spent time as a kid in the US. We played and ate and laughed for the whole weekend.
Playing Clue Junior.
Alona and Reed getting to know each other.
Reed liked to ride Alona like he does us and his older brothers. Alona is not as big as Reed's previous steeds but she is wiggly.
Saturday night after dinner the kids got pretty hardcore into costumes.
We also got into some fruit and dessert eating.
Then Theo and Beckett took turns pulling Yuval (in Sleeping Beauty costume) around on the red car. Beckett (in tutu behind) provided musical accompaniment.
The big boys invited the big girls for a sleepover in their room instead of on the futon in the attic with their parents, and amazingly, they accepted. This is all ten of us in the boys' room getting ready for bed.
Jeff and Nitsan doing storytime with all four big kids.
Sunday morning post-breakfast Lego time. Reed likes to get up in his chair and play with something too.
