Playground days are back

Friday it was chilly but we still had a great afternoon picking out birthday party supplies and then taking a trip to Shove Park.

Naked romper room wresting

One more great perk of better weather: spending more time in the romper room!

Brothers playing

The boys have been playing together a lot lately. Both Theo and Reed like some time alone to play, but Beckett almost never does, so he goes back and forth between them depending on who wants to play. Beckett and Reed like to chase each other around and wrestle--very physical play. Theo and Reed play with cars together, and Theo likes to talk and joke with Reed.

Sleepover

Last weekend we took care of the two kids of our friends Emily and Chris for a night. Since our neighbor Michelle also had two foster kids with her for the weekend, at one point we had seven children playing in our backyard. There were some crazy moments but everyone slept through the night and ate well and there was only minimal crying. We also introduced Archie and Violet to our new favorite movie Moana, which was a big hit all around.

Cinco de Mayo and other weekend fun

Friday night we kicked off the rainy cold weekend with our neighborhood Cinco de Mayo party. Theo was the big winner at the pinata, knocking it down for all the kids to rush and devour all the candy inside. We also had an awesome meal at our friends' Kyle and Alicia's new taco truck.

Beckett made a pinata in Spanish class that he was kind enough to share with Theo.

Sunday morning we joined our neighborhood again to cheer on the runners in the annual Mountain Goat race, especially our good friend Lauren! Lauren was kind enough to stop her run to hop over to give us high-fives.

We also had a wonderful visit with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Greg Sunday.

Reed's birthday

Reed spent his second birthday with Grandma Joanie and Grandpa Stu because Mama and Daddy had to work. When we all got home, we had turkey burgers, chips and ice cream cake, and Reed opened his presents. While eating his ice cream cake, Reed kept saying "I don't like ice cream cake, I want lollipop" and then eating more cake and abandoning his much-requested lollipop. Then "I want open presents!" followed by opening said presents (with the help of his brothers) and then saying, once the gift was opened, "I don't like it. I want open more presents." Hard not to laugh when this little guy is around.

Happy birthday Reed!

Reed is TWO years old. He is the happiest, funniest little guy and we are so grateful he is in our family!
