Day 3: visiting Claire’s family

The kids hit it off right away with Ernesto (14), Bahee (11), and Tanee (7) even though they hadn’t seen each other in more than 3 years. They showed us a great playground near their house, plus video games and laser tag at home.

Day 3: Albuquerque

We ate empanadas for breakfast (not a huge hit) and loved the Explore science museum. Theo and Beckett had visited the museum with Mama in 2018 when we visited Albuquerque.

Day 1: walnut Canyon National park

We had beautiful sun to enjoy our first Junior Ranger experience. We were fascinated by how these early people lived in carved out caves along the sides of the canyon, saving snow for water through the summer and fall and taking advantage of the microclimates within the canyon to grow food. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Rwm0BjLZYCOJrB3QGn5DoJFL2xnM1Pv5https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1pdW7KbaQXPIJg7QKAsCBym2Lt_so8sY_https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1aejOGHvt7TUX_-1aFarEdM2A6hW6hJNFhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1hFwwUT1JmjqkLH1y1Dr469kRDU5rSftuhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1UUg6YpQg2nLO8DQ5DAWjnErjmOy62XcThttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1iH8vQp4v3Pe4eK-hPI8IY9Q4mzNKGgAx

Day 2: Flagstaff to Albuquerque

We squeezed in a lot of adventure on the way to Albuquerque. Sunset Crater National Monument and the Museum of Northern Arizona along with Petrified Forest National Park. The nighttime driving along Route 40 was boring and intermittently life-threatening.

My dad's memorial

We had some nice family time when folks were in Ithaca for my dad's memorial.
