The face painter painted dragons on the boys' arms. They were barely dragons but the boys seemed to enjoy them. This high school girl is nice to volunteer to do kids' face painting at neighborhood events. And the dragons on the arms are better than the last time she painted their faces, when she painted blackface on them after they asked for bears.

Buffalo Zoo

The big boys had the last week of April off from school. Grandma Joanie and Grandpa Stu stayed with them Monday and Wednesday, and Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Greg had them Thursday and Friday and most of Saturday. Tuesday I took Theo and Beckett to Buffalo to meet Auntie Alexis and baby Mary Kate at the Buffalo Zoo. The only disappointment was that they changed the rhino exhibit so he can no longer race the kids along the length of the enclosure. I'm sure it's for his health and safety but Theo was bummed. It was a pretty perfect zoo day otherwise, with pretty warm temps (first meal eaten outside this season!!) and lovely company. We left Reed at home due to his grump factor the day before. It's nice to have some time with just Theo and Beckett (and cousin Mary Kate and Auntie Alexis). We also got a nice visit with Max after the zoo and some awesome pizza before heading back to Syracuse that night.

Reed's 3rd Birthday

Last Thursday was Reed's 3rd Birthday.  After his first night sleeping without a pacifier, Reed started the day by opening a few presents.  Once we all got home, we ate Reed's dinner & dessert of choice (mac & cheese followed by carrot cake) before opening one final present.  On Saturday, he enjoyed opening up a few more presents from Grandpa Stu & Grandma Joanie.

Reed got his birthday present from Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Greg during a visit to Johnstown.  All three boys have had a lot of fun playing with this tractor.  

I took the boys out of school on the Wednesday before school break to go see Auntie Alexis and baby MK at the Museum of Play.

Happy Birthday Reed!

Reed so wants to bike like his big brothers but he hasn't yet really figured out the whole pedal thing. Last time we went to Santaro Park, Theo and Beckett helped him out by pushing him while his feet were on the pedals. I love Theo urging Reed to "focus! focus! don't look down!"
