It turns out I can still carry one on my front, and one on my back.

Reed has had a lot more patience for and interest in games lately.

Museum of Play trip

Last weekend we took another Museum of Play trip, this time with both daddies accompanying. With four adults to five children (one nonmobile), we were much more successful in keeping our belongings and children with us at all times. We sure do love our time with Auntie Alexis and family!

Swearing in

On March 4, 2019, I was sworn in as a Syracuse Common Councilor for the Third District. I can honestly say this is never something I sought out, but when the opportunity was presented to me by people I trust and respect, I decided to take it. Last Monday, February 25, the Common Council appointed me to the position. March 4 I was sworn in and began my duties.

New Toys

When we met her at the Museum of Play a few weeks ago, Auntie Alexis brought us very unneeded but very much appreciated new toys: a tractor trailer car transport truck for Reed, and a 753-piece roller coaster kit for Theo and Beckett. (I initially mixed up the boxes, and Theo and Beckett were very puzzled why Reed got the roller coaster kit.) I didn't even attempt to start building it but Jeff spent most of a day this vacation week building it with the boys.

Goal!!!

Beckett continues to enjoy playing hockey as the season comes to a close.  We expect him to pick it back up in the fall when practices increase to 4X a week.  Figuring out the logistics may prove difficult, but we'll make it happen one way or another.  Below is a video of Beckett scoring a goal during a scrimmage this past Sunday.

Another Museum of Play trip

By some standards, our most recent MOP trip was a bust. Both Auntie Alexis and I were called over the loudspeaker of the Museum (her lost item was a backpack, mine was both of my twins), my kids probably acquired the flu, and because of a new exhibit opening the place was totally mobbed. But it's really fun to watch the kids getting to know each other and exploring together.

Driving the yellow taxi in Sesame Place.

The Berenstain Bears has been a hit for more than five years, and it's fun to share it with Mary Kate now.

Baby Jane!

Reed (in his Cinderella costume he wore most of the day) gets very possessive of the cashier role and the money at Farmer Ben's Farm Stand. His brothers are great at encouraging him to play with them and other kids, and they are also great at stealing as much money as possible from the other parts of the exhibit (the quilt store, the bank, the restaurant) so Reed can hoard it.

Ms. Pacman was an obsession for me as a child, and it proves to be just as addicting to me as an adult. There's something about it! And there's a machine set to free play at the Museum of Play right next to the train table. I could play for hours and it's fun to see Theo and Beckett enjoy it too!

School Musical

Theo and Beckett were in the second grade musical, Sing a Song of Aesop, last week. Beckett was a villager and Theo was a hare.
