Reed in the Crick!

On April 2, we had nothing scheduled because we were supposed to already be in Florida for our long-awaited vacation. But the sun was out and so Theo and Reed and I went out for a scooter ride on the dead end. Beckett was still feeling yucky from his bellyache. After scootering for a while, Reed and I went down to Elmwood to explore the creek.

Sledding at Burnet Park

March 13 felt late for a big snowstorm but we made the best of it at Burnet Park! Because of gusty wind, the snow was bare in some spots and deep in others, but the snow tubes were perfect for the fluffy snow (less so for the sticks at the bottom of the hill). Theo loved every opportunity to knock his brothers down with their sleds, and Beckett and Reed seemed to really enjoy being knocked down by Theo as well. We had one tube pop because of the sticks and other detritus at the end of the run but only because we had some long, long runs!

Covid!

This is how we covid.

We spent our February school vacation week spreading covid amongst ourselves. Everyone is back in school and work now and feeling fine. Mama was the sickest, with cold-like symptoms that were never very bad. Reed and Daddy were barely sick at all, and Theo and Beckett had a couple days of low energy and cold-like symptoms. Jeff missed the Duke-SU game and we all missed out on time with Jeff’s family in town for the game. We missed our much-anticipated trip to Philadelphia to visit Aaron Skrypski.

But there were highlights: Before Beckett and Reed tested positive, Beckett had to take Reed to get tested, performing his swabbing since Mama and Daddy couldn’t go in. Beckett also did a solo grocery trip and got everything we needed in record time. We had lots of card game, board game, ping pong, string art, baking, cooking, reading, video game, movie night and Lego time.

All in all we were pretty lucky-and very thankful for vaccines and boosters.

Colleen brought lots of fun activities as well as milkshake makings. Leah Witmer stocked up our fresh fruits and vegetables as well as lovely flowers and donuts.
