Day 9-10: Sedona

The last two days before we flew home we spent in Sedona. There's a lot said about Sedona--its auras, its spirituality, its spectacular natural beauty. I can't say we experienced the auras or got more in touch with our spirituality but we sure did enjoy our time there. On our first day we hiked to the Seven Sacred Pools at sunset. We lucked out with a rare parking spot and a port-a-potty in the lot, which got a lot of Genovese brother use. The light at that time of day was gorgeous.

There was also a cool giant light-up Christmas ornament in town that the kids enjoyed playing in one night.

We totally lucked out with what has to be the most gorgeous Airbnb in Sedona. Actually there are probably lots of gorgeous Airbnbs in Sedona but this one was perfect for us. On our last full day we spent the afternoon on the deck of our a-frame just playing card games and enjoying the view.

The view from our deck.

Airport Mesa hike. Reed was so amped on this hike that we actually lost him for about ten minutes because he was running so far ahead of us. When I hadn't seen him for five minutes Beckett ran on ahead and tracked him down. It must have been the positive auras coming from the airport mesa!

We succumbed to the hype and booked a Pink Jeep Tour in Sedona. We had to book the Broken Arrow tour, the one where the Jeep goes over boulders and such, because why not?

Enjoying ice cream and an awesome view from town. Apparently the week we were there is the slowest week of the year, and there was still a ton of traffic and parking was sometimes a pain. I can't imagine what it's like in summer, when folks from Phoenix are fleeing the heat.
