We got some new bubble guns which were AWESOME the first day but subsequently haven't worked very well. Oh well. They were fun that day.

Another visit with Nitsan and family

Within about an hour of their arrival, I caught the big kids reading together on the stairs.

Saturday afternoon we took a walk around Green Lakes and enjoyed the playground. The kids had a great time having leaf battles and looking for fish in the lake.

Sunday we took in Jamesville Beach and stumbled upon the Syracuse Fire Department summer picnic and Theo's bestie Johnny (whose dad is a firefighter). They had fun burying each other in the sand.

The big boys had a great time playing Frisbee with daddy on the grass near the beach.

The water was bracing but Yuval and Ma'ayan sat and played for a very long time.

No one really slept well or long Saturday night so by the time Nitsan's family shoved off Sunday afternoon, Beckett and Theo were pretty exhausted. Beckett could barely keep his eyes open so he made it up to his bed and almost totally in it before he fell asleep.

Reed at TWO

At two years old, Reed is a cheerful, talkative little guy. He loves going to the grocery store, the playground, and on walks with Mama. He loves loves LOVES his Daddy and his brothers (usually called "THEOBECKETT," all one word). He likes to FaceTime with his grandparents. He goes pee in the potty occasionally.  And he LOVES his kitty cat, Milo. They have a very special bond. Friday morning he discovered Milo sleeping on Beckett's bed. He ran over, then gently put his head next to Milo's. Then he got his blanket from his bed, brought it over to Milo, and placed it over her. Then he sang the song I sing to him when I put him to bed. It was so sweet, it brought tears to my eyes. He did it again and I got it on video.

The last week or two I've been doing the New York Times Seven Minute workout in the mornings. The boys have gotten very into doing it with me, and know all the exercises by heart. It really does make it more fun to have them doing it with me (when Reed is not tackling me, and the boys aren't lunging into me).

Mama reading time

Wednesday morning Reed and I went for a walk with friend Emily and her son Archie, and then stopped to check out the new mountain goat sculpture in the park, and then visited the playground. As we were wrapping up at the playground we saw a fire truck go by. It stopped next to the lake so some new firefighters could practice with some of the hoses, so Reed got to check out the truck and the practicing and then sit in the driver's seat. There was also a skid steer nearby working on a road project, and an excavator working on a gas line project down the street. It was a pretty big day.
