It's been a long time, and we are thrilled to report that...
Theo and Beckett are now tucking themselves in at night. It turns out all we had to do was ask. They've always yelled for us to come in when they needed to be tucked in, which now includes after they've gone to the toilet in the night. But I've been having a hard time falling back to sleep after being woken up in the night, being all giant and pregnant with heartburn and such, after they get up to go potty and then ask to be re-tucked in. Or someone wakes us up screaming, we run in, and the only problem is that their blanket is slightly askew over their bodies. So about four days ago we said if there were no wakeups in the night for tucking in, we could watch a short movie in the morning after breakfast. No wakeups since! They get up, use the toilet, tuck themselves back in, and go to sleep! Amazing! Just in time for a new baby to arrive and wake us up multiple times in the night.
